Superstitious Chinese Football Team Turns Stadium Into Gold And Starts Winning

Once upon a time, there was a Chinese football team that was a “big loser”…until they decided to “turn” the home stadium Gold.

This is the weird story of the Guangzhou R&F Football Club from the “far East” who decided to follow the ancient art and science of Feng Shui and painted the home stadium gold to end bad luck.

The superstitious Guangzhou R&F Football Club plays in the Chinese Super League under licence from the Chinese Football Association. The team is based in Guangzhou, Guangdong and their home stadium is the Yuexiushan Stadium.

Their main colour was blue. You could find it everywhere, from strips to badges and, originally, even in their home ground.

In the last four months, the team collected just one win and to brake the misfortune, the club decided it was time to listen to the Fengshui teachings. Feng shui was developed over 3,000 years ago in China and teaches how to balance the energies in any given space (home, office, garden), in order to assure good fortune for people inhabiting it.

Therefore, the club though Gold was their lucky colour and last mid-July they repainted their 20,000-capacity Stadium. Since then, they started to win and never stopped (yet), dramatically reversing their fortune.

Is really Gold their “golden mine”, their lucky colour, their source of success, their god? Or is it just the power of conditioning? A “placebo effect“? Maybe we will never know for certain. But what’s pretty sure is that, as long as it’s effective, it’s difficult they will change the colour.

What do you think? What’s your lucky colour? Is it so powerful?
