2,000 Marbles and a Lot of Creativity for an Astonishing Music

“At the beginning it was only silence and then music came to revive the days and entertain humans”.

Music can be defined the art of sounds that expresses humans’ feelings and emotions. For this reason, any kind of sound can potentially become music, and any kind of object can produce sound.
Whatever is your taste, background, age and geographical origin, there will be always some music that can thrill you in tons of amazing ways.

Today we are proud to show you a new astonishing machine (Marble Machine X Mute System) that uses over 2,000 marbles to power an insanely sophisticated wooden instrument.
This machine was invented by Wintergatan, a Swedish folktronica band from Göteborg, composed by Evelina Hägglund, Martin Molin, Marcus Sjöberg and David Zandén.

Between December 2014 and March 2016, the band uploaded several YouTube videos featuring Martin Molin documenting the construction of a music box that uses marbles to play instruments. The machine is powered by hand and works by raising steel marbles through the machine into multiple feeder tubes, where they are then released from height via programmable release gates, falling and striking an instrument below.

What’s your taste in music? Do you play an instrument? Are you a member of a band or a sound engineer? Whoever you are, enjoy this video demonstration and the amazing soundtrack made like a pro with this Marble Machine X Mute System.
