This is the end of her live shows and London the last tour concert of her career. This is what you may think about Adele, British singer-songwriter, when you read her last messages to her fans.

Adele sold more than 100 million records during her career and she is one of the best-selling recording artists in the world. Now, in a handwritten note, she announced her desire to stop touring this year, after 123 live shows. Her four London shows should had been the last ones, but she stopped even earlier and here’s the full story.

During the first of four shows in London’s Wembley Stadium, on 28th June this year, a fan shared, on Instagram, her note published in the programme for the event.

In her letter Adele explained she’s “more a homebody and gets much joy in the small things.“It’s not the first time the singer speaks about her being reluctant to go on tour, and now it may be the time when she really stops “travelling” the world, sharing her songs and voice with her international fans.

We have taken this tour across uk+ Ireland, throughout Europe, all over America and I finally got to go to Australia and New Zealand too. Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is! I’ve done 119 shows and these last 4 will take me up to 123, it has been hard out an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done. I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artist have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home. Thank you for coming, for all of your ridiculous love and kindness. I will remember all of this for the rest of my life. Love you. Goodnight for now” ❤️Adele #Adele #Adelettes #AdeleLive2017

Adele had already told the audience about her discomfort with touring. According to NZ Herald, during a show in Auckland, last March, she declared:

Touring isn’t something I’m good at … applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable. I don’t know if I will ever tour again. The only reason I’ve toured is you. I’m not sure if touring is my bag.

And she kept her words when she decided to write the note you can see above.

So this is it, after 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end.

This is how the UK singer started her note. After touring across UK, Ireland, throughout Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand, the four final shows in London should have been the last ones.

Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well…Plus I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring…And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.

And this is how Adele closed her letter, right before thanking her fans for coming to her show.

But while she was keeping her words, things went even worst and the last four shows became two. The singer gave the shocking announce in a tweet Friday night, cancelling the final two shows of her tour, and wrote:

On medical advice I simply am unable to perform over the weekend. To say I’m heart broken would be a complete understatement.

Will it really be the last time we see her? Have you ever been at one of her concerts? How was she?
