After acting in dozens of successful films, the ‘golden couple’ Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, winners of an Oscar® for writing “Good Will Hunting” (Original Screenplay), are together again and coming on TV with a city full of violent criminals dated back in the early ’90s.
Their drama pilot “City on a Hill” has been ordered by Showtime who will executive produce the project.
The two celebrities will entertain the audience with a fictional series that will take you back to the Boston in the early ’90s, a city full of corruption and racism that were the norm, until an African-American district attorney from Brooklyn arrives in the city, eager to start a change, the so-called “Boston Miracle“.
From an original idea by Affleck and Chuck MacLean (“Boston Strangler”), who wrote the script, “City on a Hill” will bring an energetic thriller into your home: the story of a huge corruption and gangs emboldened by local law enforcement agencies.
We are in Boston, around 25 years ago, and everything seems to go well for the cruel figures “ruling” the city. But a miracle is just around the corner and it will suddenly change everything. The newly arrived district attorney forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran who is invested in maintaining the status quo. The two take on a family of armoured car robbers in a case that eventually upends the city’s criminal justice system.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor (“The Accountant”) and executive produced also by James Mangold (“Logan”) and Jennifer Todd (“Memento”), “City on a Hill” may confirm the alliance Affleck–Damon as a ‘golden mine’ for the Hollywood industry.
