“The symbol of Sweden is almost done.”
This is what Zlatan Ibrahimovic wrote four days ago on his Instagram profile with the hashtags #mystatue #proud #lifework and a video that unveiled the metal reproduction of his head. A quick sneak peek at the statue that is going to be erected in Sweden, standing outside the Friends Arena in Stockholm to honour the 35-year-old soccer player, 11-time Swedish footballer of the year.
On 9th February, 2015 his wax statue was unveiled at Musee Grevin in Paris, France.
After almost two years, in 12th December, 2016 he published a preview of a stone statue, representing him and wrote: “When you come to New York you have the Statue of Liberty, when you come to Sweden you have the Statue of Zlatan #comingsoon.”
Few months later, on 28th June, 2016 a part of the forged statue seems to be ready, the head, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic was happy to share it with his fans through a video on his Instagram profile that has now reached 3,269,380 views.
